Precautions for use:

  1. When using a muffle furnace for the first time or after a long-term suspension, it is necessary to perform a baking-out procedure. During use, the furnace temperature must not exceed the rated temperature to avoid burning the electric heating elements. It is prohibited to pour various liquids and easily soluble metals into the furnace.
  2. The muffle furnace and controller must operate in a location where the relative humidity does not exceed 85% and where there is no conductive dust, explosive gas, or corrosive gas. When heating metal materials with oil or grease, a large amount of volatile gases will affect and corrode the surface of the electric heating elements, causing damage and shortening their lifespan. Therefore, during heating, timely precautions should be taken, such as sealing the container or appropriately opening holes to eliminate the gases.
  3. Damaging the oxide layer will shorten the lifespan of the heating element, and each shutdown will cause damage to the oxide layer. Therefore, avoid shutting down after startup.
  4. The muffle furnace controller should be used within the ambient temperature range of 0-40℃. Do not abruptly pull out the thermocouple at high temperatures to prevent the sheath from bursting.
  5. When heating in a muffle furnace, the outer jacket of the furnace will also become hot. The furnace should be kept away from flammable materials and ensure good heat dissipation outside the furnace. Safety should be taken into account to avoid burns.
When using a resistance furnace, constant supervision is necessary to prevent accidents caused by malfunction of the automatic control system. Do not use the resistance furnace at night when there is no one on duty.
After using the muffle furnace, the power should be cut off to allow it to cool naturally, and the furnace door should not be opened immediately.
